作為島國的臺灣，被海洋所環繞，先民的海洋經驗，來自於明清時期大規模來臺開墾時的恐懼，與將海洋視為是人類的起源、是生活信仰與文化、是族群生命母親的先住民。 當觀眾走入《向海望山》展場中時，行走過程中海浪會打在觀者身上，觀者自身會成為海的一部分，而《夢島漂流》主題房是一個能與海共眠的休憩之地，與展場相為呼應。 作為島嶼的床鋪被黑色的海洋包覆，虱目魚環繞四周，讓來自不同地方、說著不同母語的疲憊人們，都可以在島上獲得安歇與喘氣之刻。

Taiwan, as an island nation, is surrounded by the sea which was a barrier and fear for our ancestors during their large-scale immigration to Taiwan during the Ming and Qing dynasties. However, sea for aboriginals is their source, belief and culture, and gathering everyone together. While walking at the ‘Mountains and Sea’ floor exhibition, the waves on you will bring you in and become a part of the sea. Once walking into the ‘Drifting Island’ room, feels like living in the sea. The bed is the island and surrounded by the black colour sea around with milkfish. No matter where you are from, what languages you speak, you will get a break and rest on the island.
